What is Dysport® used for?
Dysport® is FDA-approved to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (also called glabellar lines). It works by relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, helping smooth the skin for a more refreshed, youthful appearance.
How is Dysport® different from Botox®?
Both Dysport® and Botox® are botulinum toxin type A injectables, and both effectively reduce wrinkles. Dysport® tends to spread slightly more from the injection site, which can be beneficial for larger treatment areas like the forehead. It may also have a slightly quicker onset of results for some patients.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Many patients begin to notice visible smoothing within 2 to 3 days, with full results appearing in about a week. Results typically last 3 to 4 months, depending on the individual and treatment area.
Does Dysport® treatment hurt?
The injections are quick and use a very fine needle. Most patients say it feels like a tiny pinch. Numbing cream or ice can be applied beforehand if needed.
Is there any downtime after Dysport®?
There’s little to no downtime. You may have mild redness or swelling at the injection site, but this typically resolves within a few hours. Most people return to their normal activities the same day.
How often will I need treatment?
To maintain your results, we typically recommend treatment every 3 to 4 months. Our providers will work with you to develop a schedule that fits your aesthetic goals.
