At Total Dermatology, research is more than a side offering—it’s part of our core commitment to advancing dermatologic care. Since 2003, our dedicated clinical research team has conducted over 200 FDA-regulated clinical trials in areas including psoriasis, acne, atopic dermatitis, alopecia, hair loss, Botox, dermal fillers, and more. With a fully equipped research facility located on-site at our downtown Birmingham location, we offer patients convenient access to innovative therapies in a safe, controlled setting. Our experienced three-person research team works closely with participants to ensure comfort, compliance, and quality of care every step of the way.

What to Expect:
Clinical trials at Total Dermatology typically include lab work, EKG monitoring, skin checks, and clinical photography. Depending on the specific study, you may be asked to attend multiple in-office visits, which vary in frequency. Throughout the process, you’ll receive care from our experienced, board-certified dermatology providers. All participants are reimbursed for their time and travel.
